PIZZA TIME

Homemade & just perfect.

Surprising

I laid out on the deck just like yesterday and saw the following. I guess those vultures got much higher than I thought & sent us a message. Played golf today at Kissimmee, which plays right around the local airport boundary. Saw lots of different aircraft types inc WW2 & got to fret about my slice. I've just missed cars and trains in my hacking career, but slicing into a jet engine intake is a new one for me.

Soaring Vultures

I don't know about Soaring Eagle, but I was out catching some evening rays on the deck, when a flock (gang volley  vacillation village, choose your own collective) of vultures appeared overhead and circled. I took my pulse to be sure, but I was OK. There was probably 500 or so. They circled higher & higher until they were just specs and then flew off to the west. Maybe the vultureweb had reported a major roadkill incident down by Tampa. It has been a warm day circa 30deg C and they were taking advantage of fast rising thermals. If I could do that I could do away with airline tickets - what's in your wallet?

The Eagle has Soared

Well, we have decamped from Disney and moved to Eagles Pointe. Not sure about that spelling, I know the Yanks suddenly break into French when speaking, so perhaps their spelling also breaks into foreign lingo as well. Dunno, but I will touch on other speaking differences in a later blog. Eagles is sort of appropriate for this place - we have seen a courting couple of hawks or falcons, can't yet identify. Had Ruben, Rocio. Phil & Jo over for pasta yesterday, it was St Paddies day but we weren't green apart from recycling the beer bottles!. Just seen flying Mustang, and it wasn't the drink. Chilling out good now & planning PeeWee and Bok for the next couple of days. Bought my UK fishing license - amazing what ypu can do from a distance. Sadly though, unable to book St Andrews golf, the bloody Pro's are playing some sort of tournament in the summer. Ah well back to the pool.

Lovely, Lovely Time

Spent a glorious couple of days lunching in the Disney resorts, below is the Grand Floridian, which is a beautiful 20's themed resort. The staff are all dressed in plus 4's & the boats that take you from place to place on the lake are replica steam yachts, all mahogany & brass. We have been lunching at different Disney places, the Yacht Club, Waves at the Contemporary. We have had a fantastic time with our good friends, Dotty & Ray, ending up at Epcot on Friday. It was  a great day, the weather ideal, high 80's a little breeze & no humidity. Epcot was beautiful, in full flower, lots of food, gardening demonstrations & talks. The only downside was I got mugged by the pollen resulting in my legs breaking out in rashes bleeding under the skin - hey ho, nothing a bit of steroid cream can't fix.

Out of Touch

Spent a day Magic Kingdom, very hot day & loads of people. Now grand kids have grown up realised I am now out of touch, didn't know several of the characters. One is the dragon in the pic & the other is a girl riding a giant set of bagpipes? Fireworks were fantastic. We are staying on Caribbean Resort & using WD transport, which is pretty good as we haven't used the car yet.

Press Micky to the Micky

When you check in to a Disney resort they give you a fiendish bracelet. It lets you get in & out the gates, open your door AND buy anything you want without cash or credit card. All you have to do is "press Micky to the Micky" Cool but deadly. We have been chilling on the resort beach - hammock time!

Caribbean 2

We weren't in the Caribbean at the last post - but we are now, well Disney Caribbean resort. Its very nice, just like the real thing, except everything works great and the people are nicer. It is organised as island villages, we are in Jamaica, each with their own pool and Port Royals with the kids big pool, wrecked pirate ship, games arcade restaurants etc etc. We have been really enjoying the walking paths and chilling out on the lakeside beaches.

In the Caribbean

Well we have arrived in the good old US of A, the journey was good. We managed to check on OK with BA to get our seats, unlike the last time when we totally forgot and just turned up at the airport. The BA check in was    heaving and we got tangled up with a coach load of Saga-goers, who weren't sure which way was up. Car hire was a good deal with Dollar. They have changed their checkin so that you have accept each term of the agreement on a computer screen. Thirteen or so screens then several for the second driver. Nice car- Chrysler (or is it Fiat) 200. Loads of features beyond my understanding. Voice activated, keyless, ethanol. I dunno, will have to swap my Wallender for the car manual. Bought a T Mobile SIM, all inclusive for the time we are here. Came with a temp number that will change in due course. Lets see. Spent the week with good friends Phil & Jo.
