GALSPAGOS1

Well we finally got moving. We had a nice time in Quito & will be back later in the month. Celebrity laid on their own flight of around 2 hours down to the Galapagos islands. This was rather old fashioned as we could take liquids through security, the meal was served on linen table cloths, china plates & real cutlery. Linda even had champagne on offer. Filling all the special forms to enter the islands was pretty tedious & confusing. Easily confused these days. Transfer to the ship went smoothly as they just delivered the cases to our room. Had to get on board by Zodiak RIB. Bit difficult to negotiate with the RIB bobbing up and down. We had to learn the Galapagos handshake to avoid falling in and to hold tight while sitting on rubber tube as the RIB bounced on the waves. The ship holds 98 passengers, very comfortable and the food & drink is spectacular. Can't get the hang of sleeping yet.

Just got my wet suit, snorkel & mask. Talk about tight fit.
